Operations Analysis and Management Review

PARSEC Group analysts will evaluate your operations needs, provide an objective analysis of the current state of your information systems, and make recommendations for increasing your cluster, network and operational availability, stability, and scalability. We will also provide the resources necessary to implement any changes necessary.

Security

Security needs vary greatly in different environments. In some cases, a system is not accessible to anyone outside of the local department so system security is not a concern. In other cases, the systems may be available to the public through the Internet and contain personal or financial data and system security is a top priority. PARSEC Group will analyze your system and network security to verify that your security goals are being met. Included in this analysis is a review of:

• Firewall configuration
• User accounts
• Password policy and enforcement
• Security auditing and reporting
• Network services
• Security patches
• SAN and backup media storage
• User data access

Backup Procedures

The backups of your system are an integral part in providing the availability of your systems and services. Without sufficient backups, the loss of any data could be permanent. PARSEC Group will evaluate your current backup procedures, including the handling of backup media, automation through scripts and the appropriateness of your backup schedule. PARSEC Group will verify the ability to recover any lost file, drive or file system by performing a test restore of some of your data.

System Availability

PARSEC Group will analyze your system searching for "single point of failure" and other issues which might limit the availability of your services. Included in this is a review of:

• Data storage, including RAID configuration
• Network configuration
• System/cluster configuration
• Log file reviews

System Integration

In most environments, your IT systems do not run in an isolated environment. They must work with other systems, communicating and sharing data. These systems frequently are running different operating systems. PARSEC Group will review the communication between the systems looking for more reliable, secure or efficient methods of getting the job done.
