PARSEC Group recognizes that every IT environment will have personnel with varying degrees of skill set levels for any operating system. As multi-platform infrastructures are more common, management is cross training their personnel to enhance their overall internal support. This is where customization plays a large role in meeting the training needs of all personnel, regardless of their experience level.
PARSEC Group works with IT management to identify the skill sets of each person, what level of expertise they have and what areas do they need improvement to meet the company's goals and direction. Once there is an agreement of the goals and direction, we review what will be the best course of action to meet their objectives.
Here is a typical example of an OpenVMS customized training class:
A customer has six (6) employees who have been working on an operating system for years. Most of their knowledge base has been from hands-on experience. The direction of the IT department is to upgrade to the newest version, increase security compliance based on new regulations and put into place a new clustering methodology.
PARSEC Group would recommend extracting certain modules from Managing Complex OpenVMS Systems, OpenVMS System, Network and Internet Security, OpenVMS v8.4 Technical Updates and OpenVMS Accelerated System Administration course material to build a class that specifically targets what the customer is trying to accomplish, within the shortest amount of time away from the office.
