Consulting Services - Conversions

PARSEC has extended its Conversion capabilities by forming Strategic Alliances with the leading providers of software conversion techniques. We have assembled a suite of technical conversion capabilities that will accommodate most conversion projects. We are constantly evaluating new approaches to what can sometimes be a very difficult problem. Because we are neither Vendor nor Technology dependant, we believe we are uniquely positioned to assess a conversion project, recommend, and then implement the most appropriate solution.

PARSEC offers a number of Conversion Consulting Services that can be tailored to suit the needs of a project. Services can be provided on-site, via phone, or secure remote access. Our services include:

Opportunity Assessments
PARSEC conducts Opportunity Assessments to determine a company's project capabilities. This includes evaluating project needs, measuring best integration practices, and analyzing project business returns. PARSEC will review the client's business drivers to ensure that the appropriate migration solution is chosen to mitigate risk and enable an efficient project.

Feasibility Studies
PARSEC conducts Feasibility Studies, based on preliminary conversion assessments, which provide an overview of the major issues related to the conversion project. We identify any "make or break" issues that would prevent the successful migration of an application. This includes assisting the client in determining the Return on Investment (ROI) for migration projects going forward.

Customizable Solutions
PARSEC's experienced conversion teams use cost-effective management and control systems to provide customizable solutions, or multiple platform support, which adheres to industry regulations and standards. The nature of our Strategic relationships allows us to identify customizable opportunities and then to apply the right technical solution.

Project Management
Each project has a Statement of Work (SOW) where all parties have agreed to their respective responsibilities and deliverables. PARSEC's Technical Experts and Project Engineers can manage and assist with the various life-cycles of a migration project, applying best practices to provide cost-effective and practical solutions for our clients.

Quality Assurance
Our clients have come to expect that projects are completed to their complete satisfaction. PARSEC provides QA testing, from pre-migration assessments to post-installation evaluations. With QA testing, conversion times and costs are notably reduced.

Conversion Capabilities
PARSEC is constantly evaluating and adding new Conversion Capabilities. Most of our conversion capabilities are for OpenVMS environments; however, quite often, the applications themselves support other Operating Systems and Platforms. Conversion examples include Oracle and DEC Forms and PL/SQL to either JAVA, or Oracle 10G and 11G, and separately, conversions to NXTware 2.0, J2EE, .NET, and SOA architectures. We also have the ability to do conversions to C++, C, Cobol, RPG, SAP, and ABAP languages.
